City Hearts Safe House

City Hearts runs a Safe House for women coming out of prostitution and exploitation or women who have been rescued from human trafficking.

The City Hearts Safehouse provides shelter for women rescued from human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We work with the Police, Social Services, the UK Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC) and other national organisations to provide a safe refuge for women trafficked into the UK.

We support those who require short to medium term stay in the UK and we also continue to support those wishing to stay longer to find work, housing and other resources as required.

Trafficking in women is the second largest organised crime, and generates over 1.2 billion dollars a year. Only 1-2% of victims are rescued. Estimates suggest that there are between 6,000 and 18,000 trafficked women working in prostitution in the UK, often in unsanitary, confined spaces and with a high probability of contracting AIDS, STIs and Heptatitis.
